Lansdowne Bhoys 5-1 Irish Rovers

Great performance by the Bhoys in this big Irish cup derby at Tibbetts park, in front of a large crowd both teams hit the ground running playing some nice possession football with the Rovers just edging the opening exchanges and after having a shot from 12 yards sail wide they immediately got into the Bhoys final third again and after a good flick on from former Lansdowne player Conor Hunter to the Rovers striker and Bhoys keeper Kabo was forced into a good save low and to his right, Rovers continued do well in the middle and the Bhoys back 4 of Kelly, Wharf, Purcell and Voltaire had to be at their best, Slowly Lansdowne started to build momentum and a clever pass by Lopez put Oakley in one on one with the keeper but his shot was straight and palmed away by the keeper, then on 34 minutes after a scramble in the Rovers box, and a half clearance Monadou Gurissy blasted home from 14 yards into the top corner., both teams battled hard for the remainder of the half with Purcell and Zargas doing well for Lansdowne

Both teams again started the second half well with Lopez and Dave Nigro starting to stretch the Rovers back line, then on 50 minutes  Tom Wharf made it 2-0 with a fine header from a Zargas corner. The Rovers however did not crack and with in 5 minutes a cross from the right flank was not delt with and the shot home from 6 yards giving keeper kabo no chance. Coach Friel then introduced Yuriy Mazur and Andrew Sousa, and the following 25 minutes was a clinical showing by Lansdowne, Momodou made it 3-1 on 63 minutes with a fine solo run and shot and went close shortly after with a low driven shot from the left, , Voltaire who was causing all sorts of problems on the left then crossed for Joe Lopez to shoot home from close range, shortly after it was Voltaire who got in on the scoring with a headed goal from a Paco Navarro cross. In the end Lansdowne were deserved winners but there was nothing easy about it against a talented Rovers team, Coach Friel was happy with the result and work rate of his team, the Bhoys now play old foe Greek America on Tuesday nite in the Fricker open final.

Lansdowne Bhoys Res 1-2 Pancyprian Freedom Res

The Bhoys bow out in the quarters of the cup they have won for the past 3 yaears, Coach kenny was bitterly disappointed with a poor first half performance were they gave up a soft goal and struggled to play like they have in the past 10 weeks,

After a stern halftime team talk it was one way traffic in the second half with the Bhoys creating chance after chance but poor finishing kept the score at 1-0, then on 80 minutes the Pancyprians countered and made it 2-0, the bhoys continued to attack  and got a goal back on 85 minutes with a shot from Cesar Ceja, and even in the final 5 minutes they had 3 corners and multiple chances but in typical cup fashion the underdog defended bravely and hung in for the win

Coach Kenny will rally his players during the week and prepare for their final league game of the fsll next sunday

Lansdowne Bhoys Metro 5-0 Pro touch USA

Lansdowne Metros won their state cup game 5-0 against Pro Touch Eagles. Niels Kirch scored 4 and Adam Fleming with 1I was delighted with the performance. The football was exceptional and the finishing clinical. The pick of the goals, however, was the second when Seamus McDaid curled in a 20 yard lofted pass. The pass was so perfect that, as manager, it legitimately makes me question whether our lives are scripted or not.
