Great victory for the Bhoys who dominated this game from start to finish, never giving the opposition a chance to settle, with a high intensity high press game.


If the kickers did get in behind and get a shot off they came up against inform keeper Kabo.


The Bhoys were one up with in 15 minutes with a shot from Momodou Gurissey, Gurissey then made it two with another nice run and shot, after some fine build up play Gurissey got his hatrick on 35 minutes rounding the keeper and converting his angled shot.


The Bhoys kept pressing and Joe Lopez made it 4-0 before the break.


The second half started the same as the first and the Bhoys were 5 up on 50 minutes with another Lopez shot, kickers pulled one back before Lukas Zargas made it 6 for the Bhoys with a 30 yard free. Next up was Daryl Kavanagh who worked hard in the hole all nite with a classy run and chip from 20 yards, Ovan Oakly finished off the scoring with the best team goal of the season building all the way from the back and ending with a cross and drive home from 10 yards by Oakley. Coach Friel was much happier with his Bhoys finally looking sharp and clinical in front of goal.

Bhoys take a point but will feel they should have taken 3, the first half was evenly balanced with both teams struggling to get a foothold in the game, both Ricardo and Fernandez went close for Lansdowne with Fernandez being a constant threat.


It was the Kickers however who got the only goal of the first half when the bhoys back 4 got caught flat and the Kickers forward ran in and shot home from 10 yards.


In the second half the Bhoys lifted their game and created many chances but nothinh clear cut and defending much better when called on at the other end, finally after subdued pressure Oswaldo equalized for Lansdowne with a shot from 18 yards into the bottom left corner.


The draw puts the Bhoys back on top of the table but Coach Kenny and Turtoro will be looking for much more from their Bhoys in the lead up to the playoffs.


Mr Denneheys 0-2 Lansdowne Bhoys Metro


Lansdowne scored a huge 2-0 win over Mr Dennehys in Staten Island. The undermanned Bhoys had the bare eleven, and outfield youngster Gearoid Kennedy had to go in goals. The Bhoys had several good chances early, and got their reward 25 minutes in after Damien Mescall played a clever set piece to Timmy O’Driscoll who then crossed into Johnny Power to head home. The Bhoys held the lead comfortably and O’Driscoll hit the woodwork on three separate occasions. With 5 minutes to go, Matt Salerno sealed the game with 5 minutes to go, on an O’Driscoll feed on a well-worked counterattack.”I was delighted with the performance of my players to grind out the win in very difficult circumstances. It was a vintage performance- one marked by its boldness and grit against a very good team that blew us out earlier in the season. Special mention to 17-year-old Gearoid Kennedy, who has a bright future out the field, but stepped up with a flawless performance in goals today.
